Before i start this news post let me just apologise in advance for its length, ill try to make it as interesting and as informative as possible.
Over the last few weeks our new 1.6 team have been very busy competing in the UKesa Championship league and theSGL Season 9.
To make this post easy to understand i will tackle each competition seperately, starting with theSGL...
Team-Invalesco were placed in Group F for the League tier of Season 9. The final standings and teams competing in league F can be found below;
Arguably the hardest league table in season 9, Team-Invalesco pulled off some impressive results against some top teams. With lineups holding players from the top of the CSS Scene aswell and top CS1.6 players the team did a great job in securing 2nd place in the league.
The team now move on to the Season 9 playoffs where they have been given a by into the 2nd round. They will face off against either sRevenge.com or NervousGamers. If successful in winning the playoffs the team will gain automatic promotion into the SGL Championship league for next season. This is where the big teams such as strOng~, Sexytime, Decerto, Nvious and others compete and would be a huge step in progression for the team and its players. We wish the team the best of luck in the playoffs and hope they can continue on the great streak they are on!
Next we come to UKesa...
Our 1.6 team were placed in the open division of the 1.6 tournament. Although no prizes are on offer here, this is where teams show they have what it takes to compete with the big guys. Team-Invalesco were placed in the following group;
As you can see we have been very successful in winning all of our games with a 100% unbeaten record including many 16-0 results. Currently we are unsure about what will happen once the open league closes. We will keep you posted on updates or playoffs which may announced in the future..
So to the future, the 1.6 team are now focusing on theSGL playoffs and the IG MVS challenge cup. The following was announced just days ago by the IG Staff;
Over the course of April and May 2009, Infinity-Gaming will be hosting an online tournament with 3000GBP of cold hard cash on offer to the top 3 teams. They will also be presenting a showmatch between the tournament champions and Trademark Gamers, one of the UK's leading eSports teams, with the winner of this spectacle earning an additional 250GBP.
This is a really great opportunity for the team to get the Invalesco name around the 1.6 scene as it is very likely they will truely be tested by some of the top teams in 1.6.
I caught up with
Sumedh "ipod-own!" Balan to see what he had to say about the teams progress;Well the team is doing great with the new inv tag, we are trying to work hard on playing as a unit aswell as helping each other improve on our individual skills. Strats are something we are working on actively. in the past few weeks we have had exceptionally good results in pcws against some top mixes and teams we hope we can carry this momentum with us onto the SGL playoffs & the MVS Challenge Cup!
